WORLD PRESS PHOTO EXHIBITION & RECEPTION

  • DUPONT UNDERGROUND 1500 19th street, NW, Washington, DC, 20036 (map)

A good photograph is one that communicates a fact, touches the heart and leaves the viewer a changed person for having seen it.
It is, in a word, effective
.” — Irving Penn

The Netherlands America Chamber of Commerce (NACCWM) together with the Netherlands America Foundation (NAF) and the DC Dutch would like to invite you to attend a "Dutch" afternoon on Sunday November 5th, 2017 to visit the World Press Photo exhibition, guided by Executive Director Robert Meins.

Partnering with international, (non)governmental organizations, think-tanks, embassies, universities and civil society organizations the exhibition is highlighting the issues and stories behind last year’s award-winning photojournalism.

What is World Press Photo? Since 1955 World Press Photo organizes the most prestigious international press photography competition. Photographs submitted by the likes of AP, Getty, National Geographic and the Washington Post are transformed into a large exhibition that travels the world. Last year the exhibitions were visited by 4 million people in 100 cities across the globe. But not here in Washington. This despite the fact that DC is home to the leading people and organizations influencing virtually every topic depicted in the photographs.

Please make sure to register via the Blue Register button below before November 5 and select the special ticket called "DC Dutch/NAF/NACCWA" on the bottom.

We look forward to welcoming you at the exposition!
