Discussion with Mr. Paul Polman, CEO of Unilever, on Sustainable Growth & Transformational Change in Business, moderated by Diane Brady
For more than 400 years, the Netherlands and the United States
have enjoyed an economic relationship based on their shared
values of freedom, justice and entrepreneurship.
To highlight these shared values, the Holland on the Hill program
was launched in 2014. Aimed at Capitol Hill, the program is a joint
effort among the Dutch Caucus, the Netherlands Embassy, Dutch
corporate partners, and The Netherland-America Foundation to
strengthen our longstanding relationship on an economic, political
and cultural level.
As part of this effort, the Holland on the Hill Heineken Award
focuses on the entrepreneurial side of the bilateral relationship by
honoring an industry leader who has made a substantial
contribution to the US-Dutch economic relationship through an
entrepreneurial business spirit. The recipient of the prestigious
award will give a breakfast lecture at the Cannon Caucus Room on
May 15, 2015.
Dr. Werner Vogels, the vice president and Chief
Technology Officer at Amazon received the award last year. This
year’s awardee is Paul Polman, CEO of Unilever.
The Holland on the Hill Heineken Award embodies the spirit of
Freddy Heineken, who as a young man was sent to the United
States in 1946 to develop his business skills. It was during that
period that he learned the innovative marketing techniques he used
to transform Heineken into one of the world’s most recognized
global brands today.
